A Tiger Cub inside Trapboy Freddy’s House

I’d say the vast majority of celebrities–whether actors or singers, or performers of any sort–crave more exposure, even when it costs them a little bit of privacy. Case in point: MTV Cribs, where celebrities welcome the presenters (and the camera crew, of course) into their homes for an interior walkthrough. For Devarius Dontez Moore, a Dallas-based rapper more popularly known as Trapboy Freddy, the walkthrough hit a different tune. As reported by WFAA, it was a team of law enforcement officers who had a taste of Trapboy Freddy house tour when they served an arrest warrant on August 17, 2022.

Illegal Possession of a Firearm

Instead of a TV production crew, the people who did the walkthrough in his house were police officers. It was a big team composed of the Dallas police and federal agents from the United States Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration.

An Arrest

The original arrest took place in Kaufman County in March 2022, during a traffic stop when the police pulled him over to find a gun in his car and more than two ounces of marijuana. Back then, he claimed the gun wasn’t his, according to WFAA. And five months later, in August, the officers took Trapboy Freddy into custody on weapons charges. Court documents verified that the August arrest was in relation to an indictment of a “possession of a firearm by a convicted felon” in March, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.

He pleaded not guilty the following Friday, and the court granted him a release under the conditions that he had to abide by a curfew, wear a tracking ankle monitor, and submit to scheduled drug screening. Trapboy Freddy had gone through several runs-in with the law in his younger years. In 2018, the Dallas PD also arrested him on charges of evading arrest in relation to outstanding warrants in DeSoto and Cedar Hill. He once accused the police of using excessive force while arresting him, an allegation that prompted the DPD to conduct an internal review.

A Tiger in the House

News about the arrest quickly spread through social media, partly due to the surprising discovery of a tiger cub in the house. While serving the arrest warrant at Trapboy Freddy’s house in the Southern Oak Cliff, on the 2700 block of Meadow Gate Lane, near Interstate 20 and Highway 67, police officers found a tiger cub inside a cage. In Dallas, it’s against the law to keep a tiger as a pet.

The Dallas Morning News said the animal services secured the animal and held it under protective custody after the arrest. Dallas Zoo clarified on social media that the tiger wasn’t one of their. At the time of the arrest, all the tigers in the zoo were all accounted for.

Takeaway

The Dallas police and federal official arrested Trapboy Freddy on charges of illegal possession of a firearm. While serving the warrant at his house, the officers also found a tiger cub kept as a pet inside a cage at the location. Dallas Animal Services took the tiger into custody at an undisclosed location.
