A couple of weeks back I mentioned that the big kid and I had been putting our Christmas Shoebox together for Team Hope, a box full of treats including pants, socks and hygienic products like soap, a toothbrush, and toothpaste and of course a doll, a ball, and some munchies. We even put in a superhero cape in. It’s our fourth year to put a box together, I’m a huge believer in paying it forward, if I can help someone out in need in any way I will try my very best to do so.
The deadline for Christmas shoeboxes has been and past, and I know loads of people who missed it or simply forgot to drop their boxes off in time but there is hope. You can now donate online and have Team Hope create a box for you for a child in Kitui county, in southeast Kenya.
By donating €15 online (via Credit/Debit Card or PayPal) Team Hope and their partner in Kenya will produce a shoebox gift for either a girl or a boy which will include items like what they recommend in their physical Christmas shoeboxes. In the online Christmas shoebox, poor children from Kenya will receive copy books and pens to write with in school, a facecloth, soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste for a child to wash with, something to wear as well as something to wow them with – like a doll or a ball.
Those who live abroad can now take part and make a difference and those who missed the deadline and can now get involved with the online Christmas shoebox. Can you imagine their little faces when they open these Christmas boxes? It’s a wonderful project – it really is a simple gesture!
Please share this and get as many online Christmas shoebox made up for the kids of Kenya this year!
Such a worthwhile cause to support, i have fond memories of making up Christmas Shoeboxes as a kid and it always made me feel “good” to be helping to make another child’s Christmas more special! xx
Oh this is such a good idea. I think it’s such a lovely thing to do with children too xxx
Isn’t it just! Can you imagine their faces when they open them??
That’s great to know as I completely missed the deadline at my son’s nursery.
Yah!
What an incredible project!!! I love that it’s online now too. We always give back and every year part of our Christmas traditions is to donate and do something like this. I think it’s so important to teach our children to do things like this. x
Awh that’s wonderful to hear Chloe, it’s a bit of a tradition for us too now that I think about it!
This is a brilliant project and so good to do with the kids to explain to them how they are helping others.
Especially at Christmas – a timing of giving x
I really wanted to put one of these boxes together but having just had a baby I think I’m going to struggle to find the time. It’s great that I can still donate online and get a box to a child. 🙂
Isn’t it just! I missed the deadline a few years back and would have loved this option, I felt awful as we have been doing it years!
ah thats a good idea, the kids do this through the school.
Yes a lot of schools do the physical boxes, it’s a great thing to get the kids involved with!
We do this in work every year. Loads of shoe boxes. I didn’t participate this year because I moved office. The other office didn’t do it.

This is such a lovely thing to do. My friend has set up something similar and we are getting involved with that this christmas xx
I remember being at the receiving end of those shoe boxes in Romania, after the communist years. I did plan to make one with Emma and in Georgie’s memory this year but we did miss the deadline so this is the perfect alternative, thank you!

I’ve never done one of These shoebox things. They are such a good idea though.
