Juggling a newborn, a wobbler and a senior infant has my brain completely fried. Lack of sleep and the major life change has me exhausted. Resulting in me being extremely forgetful, so forgetful that I almost reversed out of my driveway while the newborn slept soundly in her car seat on the sofa IN THE HOUSE. And that’s not all, I’ve been an absolute disaster the past few weeks. Baby brain is at a peak.

In the last month, I have put a cloth nappies in the wheelie bin and rinsed out a disposable. I also put one of Frankie’s nappies on Kadie and only realized when it almost smothered her.

I have forgotten to pick the five-year-old up from school twice, only remembering once cause the wobbler was torturing one of her Lottie dolls. I have also made her get dressed for school on a Saturday.<script async src=”//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script>

I have given Kayla a cup of coffee. Put a teabag in the kettle. I have served Frankie one of Kadie’s bottles. I have made only chicken and vegetables for dinner because I forgot to put the mash on. I have forgotten to make any dinner. I gave the dog a bowl of Cheerio’s instead of dog food. I have forgotten to order takeaway and waited for my imaginary order for over an hour.

I have locked myself out of the house. I’ve found my phone in the fridge. I have lost my bank card a million times. And I lose my car keys on a daily basis. Oh, and I lost my car in a car park. I’ve lost count of the number of times I walked in and out or rooms forgetting what I actually went in for. Only yesterday I went the shop for milk and left with bread. So they had dry cereal this morning.

I’m sure there’s plenty other ridiculous things I’ve done that joe, my mam or Kayla has yet to tell me. I’m an absolute disaster!

Have you done any silly forgetful things during pregnancy or shortly after?

  1. I remember baby brain so well. When I was pregnant with my eldest my job involved going to lots of different locations. I think I lost half my wardrobe because I kept leaving coats and cardigans and all sorts of things behind me.

  2. This made me giggle. I’m glad I’m not the only one! My last pregnancy I looked at the clock then announced it was £7.40! I also got rather frustrated at the computer mouse not working then realised I was wiggling my drinks bottle instead.

  3. So funny Kelly. You must be exhausted! The worst baby brain I had was leaving the dog tied up at the shop for two hours by herself. That was truly awful when I discovered because she is a rescue dog and has been abandoned before. She also would have watched us just walk away from her. oh, i felt awful! Have recovered somewhat, and I’m sure you will too 🙂 x

  4. Ahh baby brain. I have a scary feeling that it will never leave now it has taken hold. I feel like every day, my brain is dithering away slightly until I’m left with this thing that can just about comprehend using the toilet and maybe getting a shower (if the kids let me). I feel your pain!
