Lovely bit of sun here in Dublin, and to top if off Daddy
had a whopper hangover and decided to take the day off. After a four hour nap with Frankie this morning, I was full of beams. Let’s go the beach I said. It will be fun I said.
I know I have a bun in the oven but bloody hell I’m roasting. It’s sweating outside. It’s sweating inside. It’s sweating in the car. It’s sweating in the shower. There’s no escaping it. The heat is killing me. It’s sticky, there’s no breeze, my sun cream is melting off my arm, I cannot cope. I’m hormonal in general but today I sobbed hysterically for a good ten minutes just because I was just too warm. The five year old thinks I’ve lost the plot altogether. I have though, I’m giving out about summer, the sun and the sun in summer in Ireland.
Given our changeable weather, layers of clothing is always advisable in the land of the leprechaun. On an average day it’s recommended to bring your rain gear, wellies, sun cream and shades on any outdoor adventure because the weather can be so unpredictable. However over the past week the country is smiling, the weather is bliss and the barbeques have been dusted off. Ireland is delightful when the sun is shining! (more…)
My latest parenting beach hack is just in time for summer. For some talcum powder is not only fantastic at keeping babies’ bottoms dry and helping to prevent nappy rash – baby talcum powder is my secret weapon at the beach. It’s always in the boot of my car along with some suncream. (more…)
