I’m always baking with the big kid, mostly we destroy the kitchen and eat up, while the other-half cleans up the mess we’ve made. I’ve decided to add a new section to my blog sharing some of the yummy treats we have made. Here is our first recipe, a healthy biscuit made with porridge oats that you can basically add any filling too. They’re so easy you’ll make them all the time.

Ingredients

Cup of Porridge Oats

3-4 tbsp of Pureed fruit (we used pear)

2 tbsp of Coconut

Raisins

Method

Preheat the oven to 180 C or Gas Mark 4.

Pour the porridge oats, puree, coconut and raisins into a bowl.

Combine all ingredients together.

Grease proof a baking tray.

Spoon your mixture onto the baking tray into desired shape.

Bake for approximately 15 minutes until biscuits have turned a golden brown and leave to cool before removing from tray.

They make the perfect snack and the kids loved them. We got adventurous with our next batch and added some cocoa powder to make a healthy alternative chocolate biscuit. Next time I think we will try some maple syrup.
