As a mum with kids who have a room full to the brim with toys, I try to avoid gifting plastics to others at Christmas and it is exactly what I’ve done again this year. I love gifting fluffy pj’s, festive jumpers, slippers and anything to keep cosy through the winters months myself, who doesn’t? Each year I also buy the kids festive knits or dresses, it’s almost become a little tradition and this year was no different. We’ve teamed up with F&F to share some of their festive pieces in store this season and it’s been most probably one of my favourite little sprees of the year. The kids stink of Christmas. (more…)
Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m like a big kid when it comes to Christmas. I love the Toy Show, Christmas FM, when Jingles McSprinkles and Snowflake arrive, advent calendars, ice-skating, the lights but most of all I love the Christmas experiences, the days out with the kids. So when the invite for the press preview of Luggwoods Santa’s Enchanted Forest arrived in my inbox you can just imagine my excitement. (more…)

Last night we visited Wild Lights, the night-time festival of lights display featuring giant colourful lanterns and illuminated animal sculptures inspired by wildlife at Dublin Zoo. There’s no denying it’s a must-see production featuring an unbelievable 12,000 meters of silk, 19,000 bulbs, 5000 meters of LED lights, 48,000 glass bottles and 215,000 pieces of porcelain weighing over 9.5 tonnes. Ladyrath Lane in Co. Meath is a family run business dealing in outhouses and renovating sheds but they are known mostly for their Pumpkin Patch and seasonal events throughout the year. It was our first-time pumpkin picking at Ladyrath Lane today and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, whilst it’s quite a small patch it had everything a kid could ask for including the mud. All. The. Mud. My lot had to be dragged out of the place. We literally had two kicking and screaming when it was time to go. (more…)
I’d love to start this by saying all was grand but in reality, it wasn’t. It all started the day of the storm. Joe was home, dinner was on and by dinner I mean I added sauce from a jar to a big bowl of pasta I made that morning in case the electricity went. It didn’t, thankfully. (more…)
Anyone who knows me well will tell you I’m an awful cook with exception to my homemade vegetable soup – it’s whopper if I do say so myself. If I was to be completely honest, I would say I don’t really enjoy cooking at all – for me, it’s a chore. And then of course with four smallies I struggle to find meals they will all eat. (more…)
Recently Mattel got in touch to see if Frankie would be interested in reviewing the Thomas & Friends Cranky at the Docks playset. He basically thinks Mattel is Santa, well, in fact, they kind of are. Fisher Price is a brand I’ve always trusted, sure we still have toys I played with as a kid floating about our playroom. (more…)
For one week only, Durrow, a little village in Laois transforms its town for the Durrow Scarecrow Festival. They had Peppa Pig, Beyoncé, Fidget Spinners, Minions and Harry Potter just to name a few. Durrow Scarecrow Festival took place the first week in August this year, I know I’m way behind on the blog but sure these things happen. (more…)
We’ve soldiered through many a sickness in this house. We’ve had everything from measles to hand, foot, and mouth. I always saw the light at the end of the tunnel.
Then Saturday happened.
I will never forget Saturday for as long as I live. (more…)
