I may be almost ready to pop with only a couple of weeks left before little miss arrives but I’m taking advantage of my summer off so I loaded the kids into the car with a mini picnic and headed down the m50/N11 to Glenroe Farm Co Wicklow, to continue our Adventure’s of Eire. It’s been over three years since our last visit and it was great to see it’s still as fun as ever.
Glenroe Farm is a family run business, established in 1994. Glenroe was a well-known series that aired on RTE during 1983-2001. The famous 350-year-old thatched farm cottage, home to Dinny, Biddy and Miley Byrne still stands just within the main entrance that now hosts a mini museum of exhibitions.
A couple of months I was approached to review Obeo – food waste boxes, and before you think the parenting blogger has lost her marbles, there’s a good reason behind it why I agreed. You know Frankie my man-child, the one who destroys my house on a daily basis? Yes him! Well when he found his knees, he found our bin and when he found our bin, he found the rubbish and well we all know babies and bins don’t go well together, so soon my bin was on my counter top. After a few weeks of it bugging the absolute shit out of me it ended up out the back garden by the patio door. Then we no longer had a bin but a plastic bag sitting on the draining board. (more…)
Last week we continued our Adventures of Eire and visited The Kildare Maze just outside Prosperous in the North Kildare countryside for the third time. Our family adventures continue as we explore the little treasures Ireland has to offer. This week we landed upon Wexford Lavender Farm. This farm is Ireland’s first lavender farm and it’s hidden amongst the scenic countryside just outside Gorey. There is ample parking charged at €2 per car and a number of activities to keep the babogs entertained. (more…)
This morning I attended the launch of Boots Parenting Club in the InterContinential, Simmonscourt Road. Tv3’s Xpose presenter Aisling O’Loughlin told us of her experiences as a mother while Irelands Super-nanny Niamh O Reilly from The Nursery gave us some practical sleep advice and one of Boots Pharmacists was also on hand to answer all queries us mammies threw at her. It was a fantastic morning full of chats with some familiar faces, nibbles and I got an awesome goodie box of products upon departure that I’ll actually use. (more…)
I love nothing more than finding a bargain but it’s even better when an app finds it for you and takes all the hassle of searching instore or online for all the latest deals. The BabyDoc App helps us mammies and daddies save money and time by showing us what savings you can make on baby product purchases, according to your location and product preferences. BabyDoc provides information on special offers that is updated every 24 hours to ensure all offers are up-to-date. It basically it gives you the special offers you want and where to get them.
There’s some great features on the App too. You can favourite particular brands and receive alerts when that product is on special offer. For example if I’m looking for WaterWipes I can opt to get notifications direct to my phone when they are on special in any of the featured shops like Dunnes Stores, Tesco, SuperValu, Boots and Lloyds Pharmacy.
The best bit is this app is available to download for FREE on Android and iPhone. Check it out, it won’t cost you a thing and could save you a couple of eurahs!

I’m really looking forward to the summer off with the babogs however money will be tight and my energy levels will be limited with our pending arrival due in late August. There’ll be no summer holidays for us this year, or the foreseeable so we’ll be exploring Ireland and some of it’s hidden treasures. There are so many beautiful places to visit and most of them won’t break the budget if you plan wisely and bring a packed lunch with you. Here are
ten nine places you must visit this summer.

This week three new Lottie dolls arrived as part of our new role as Lottie brand ambassadors. First to be inspected by little miss was Pandora’s Box, an animal lover who volunteers at her local shelter. Next she examined Kite Flyer Finn a boy doll and an adventurous outdoorsy type. She really likes Finn because we don’t have any boy dolls apart from Princes. And finally her favourite, a pirate themed Lottie called Pirate Queen, who is inspired by reading about the life of the original ‘Pirate Queen’, Grace O’ Malley, a real-life pirate who lived in 16th century Ireland, the ’most notorious woman in all the coasts of Ireland’.
