Why Do You Blog?

A question asked quite regularly.

I hate the cinema, I get restless legs because I’ve been pregnant the past three years. I can’t knit. And there’s only so much Netflix one can watch. When I take out my laptop put my feet up and write it helps me unwind. It’s what I enjoy doing. I love writing, it’s my passion. (more…)

My Unplanned Home Birth : Kadie’s Birth Story

It all began when I went for my weekly check-up on Wednesday the 19th of August. I thought I’d be kept in for an induction but my obstetrician kindly listened to my plea of wanting to labour spontaneously and gave me a couple of days grace, under conditions of returning on Friday to have another blood test to monitor my platelets. She gave me a sweep to get things moving and I was on my way… (more…)

Kayla records a short film for RTE’s Kidspeak

Last month a researcher, Sharon, from RTE came across my blog an emailed us to see we were interested in recording a piece on RTEjr’s Kidspeak. Have you picked up your FREE Eumom gift bag from SuperValu?

Have you picked up your free Eumom gift bag? It is available to all pregnant women in Ireland to celebrate pregnancy. I got a form in my first booking pregnancy pack in the Coombe earlier this year and this afternoon I picked up my free bag in my local SuperValu store. The free Eumom gift bag is filled with a mixture of samples, full-size products, vouchers and informative leaflets. Bags do vary from store to store but I’m pretty happy with everything I got in mine and after all it was all free, who doesn’t like a good freebie!

He’s spoilt. He’s too attached. He’s not going to know what’s happened when the new baby arrives.

hes spoilt hes too attached

When I had my baby I held him every second I possibly could. I skipped dinner so he could stay flaked across my chest. I ignored the postman and visitors knocking on the door because he looked too comfortable to be disturbed. I cancelled nights out as I preferred to watch him sleep. And I dreaded visiting friends and family because they robbed my cuddles. (more…)
