Last Sunday we spent the morning at the Dublin Visitor Centre Christmas Experience on a vintage Christmas bus for a magical journey around Dublin’s Fair City. The Dublin Visitor Centre invited us on board their Chrismified double decker bus on O’Connell street for a sing-along and storytelling with Santa and here’s how we got on… (more…)

Today we headed off on another Adventure of Eire and took to Co. Meath to have a whirl around Kennedys Pumpkin Patch. I was flying solo with all four as Daddy had to work and in a panic, I rang nana to take the wobbler. In my defence, she has the snots and is feeling a bit under the weather so it was probably best anyway. I felt awful leaving her but I made it up to her when we got home with some quality one on one time. (more…)
Earlier this summer we were invited to the Connacht Hotel for a summer staycation. Off to Galway we go, hormonal and heavily pregnant with three kids, sure it will be fun. And it was, apart from the FIVE HOUR DRIVE to get there. We squashed three kids into the car, a double buggy, everything that comes with a baby and enough (more…)
Summer is coming to an end and with one weekend left, I had to whizz up a quick review on the Kia Ora Mini Farm located on the outskirts of Courtown, Wexford. With a host of attractions, the two kids legged it once inside. I couldn’t tell you the number of trucks, tractors, go karts and trikes sitting around the grounds of the mini farm. We couldn’t get the boy off them. He hopped from one to another the whole day. (more…)
On Saturday Kayla, Kenzie and I snook out for a couple of hours to go strawberry picking in Lamberts Fruit Farm just up in the Dublin mountains close to the DSPCA. I’ve always wanted to go strawberry picking or fruit picking in general but never knew such places existed in Dublin never mind Ireland until a friend told us about it whilst robbing snuggles from little K.
Last weekend Airfield Estate in Dundrum invited us along to explore and experience their educational and recreational 38 acre urban farm located minutes from Dundrum Shopping Centre as part of our Adventures of Eire series. (more…)
A few months back I had seen an article by Wells House and Gardens (one of our favourite fairy hunting destinations) about geocaching and it got me intrigued, what’s all this about geocaching? I’ve seen so much about it on Twitter and in the media lately… (more…)
Invest in a Portable DVD Player or Tablet
On a recent trip to Disneyland Paris, I would have been lost without Mamma Mia, my little one loves musicals and it kept her entertained before, during and after our flight. Even though the portable DVD added some bulk and weight to my bag, it was invaluable whilst travelling. If you choose to bring a tablet download some favourites movies before you leave and don’t forget to pack some earphones too.
Adventures of Eire continues this time with a stop off at Stradbally in Co Laois to visit the Woodland Railway Station. The boy is train and truck mad so this visit was mainly for him. I’ve avoided town and all the centenary celebrations due to the bump, I just couldn’t be dealing with the crowds but we did enjoy the parade on TV. (more…)
