Tayto Park is one of those days out we do once a year. I’d absolutely love to be able to do it more but with a larger family, it’s just too expensive for us. So with that in mind, I did my research before we went yesterday to make sure we got the most out of our day. Last Sunday saw us uncover the hidden gem that Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park is. Situated in Rathangan, Lullymore is a mineral island surrounded by a sea of peat. It has a host of heritage and biodiversity area’s suitable for all ages. And with it being voted the best day out with kids in Kildare by The Leinster Leader we had to let my kids put that to the test. Ardgillian Castle and Demesne, one of Ireland’s hidden gems situated in north county Dublin. A magnificent castle built in 1738 with the west and east wings added in the late 1800’s. The castle has since been restored and is open to daily guided tours but today we popped along after recommendations from parents in my Adventures of Eire group. It’s playground, panoramic views and gardens are said to be one of the best in Ireland… (more…)

Pumpkin Picking at Kennedys Pumpkin Patch

Today we headed off on another Adventure of Eire and took to Co. Meath to have a whirl around Kennedys Pumpkin Patch. I was flying solo with all four as Daddy had to work and in a panic, I rang nana to take the wobbler. In my defence, she has the snots and is feeling a bit under the weather so it was probably best anyway. I felt awful leaving her but I made it up to her when we got home with some quality one on one time. (more…)

Kia Ora Mini Farm Wexford

Summer is coming to an end and with one weekend left, I had to whizz up a quick review on the Kia Ora Mini Farm located on the outskirts of Courtown, Wexford. With a host of attractions, the two kids legged it once inside. I couldn’t tell you the number of trucks, tractors, go karts and trikes sitting around the grounds of the mini farm. We couldn’t get the boy off them. He hopped from one to another the whole day. (more…)
