This afternoon we were invited to hop aboard the famous Rathwood Express and take a trip down to the woodlands with Little Bo Peep and help her find Seamus, her lost sheep, obvs.
The event is advertised as an hour long trip and there’s a couple eventful stop off’s. There are clues about Seamus’s whereabouts, sing songs, sneaky foxes and a little visit to see some spring lambs.
During the final stop off each kid gets some bread to feed the geese and swans, however, my wobbler didn’t get the memo. It didn’t seem to bother that the bread was stale either…
And for helping Little Bo Peep find her sheep each child aboard the Rathwood Express got their very own lamb soft toy to bring home (more f**king teddies, great!). And they also get a coupon for a cupcake in their restaurant. Each one devoured. That’s the bhoy there sussing the out the train. Had I have taken my eyes off him I’d say he would have taken it for a ride.
I loved how engaging Little Bo Peep was with all of the children calling each of them by their first names too (name labels are given to each child before they jumping on board) and she shared her time between each carriage throughout the duration of the journey.
My only fault with the whole Little Bo Peep experience is that it is advertised as one hour long and our journey from start to finish lasted forty-five minutes which was a little disappointing BUT they had a lovely little playground on site that the kids enjoyed for the guts of an hour afterwards.
It costs €7 a ticket for children and babies (0 – 12 months are free) and even though our trip was complimentary I was a little taken aback to see they charged wobblers when I originally researched it but our wobbler actually made our day, she got the most from it and smiled from ear to ear throughout. Adults are also charged at €4 per person.
In total, our tickets would have cost us just under thirty quid and I genuinely think it was worth it even though it didn’t last as long as we had expected. I would definitely return, in fact, we hope to return for their Cinderella Tea Party next month. The Little Bo Peep Rathwood Express is running until the 26th of February, for more information check out their website.
We received complimentary tickets for the Little Bo Peep Rathwood Express experience in return for an honest review.
