Dust and Things is a nifty little family business based in the UK who create one of a kind personalised gifts for special occasions. They contacted me early last month to see if I’d be interested in reviewing a product of my choice from their site, and having found the personalised baby keepsake box, I couldn’t refuse. It was the perfect size customized keepsake box to keep Kadie’s bump memorabilia and items throughout her first year, something I do for all my little babogs.
Upon ordering I easily choose from 3 different styles of keepsake boxes and then I picked my design, I choose the handwritten cursive. I picked box 1 (28.5cm x 18cm x 13.5cm) and it included a lift up lid secured with vintage style latch and fixings. To customize her box I simply typed her name, date of birth, birth weight and a little message to be engraved on the back. It couldn’t have been easier.
Within a week of ordering, the box arrived from the UK, and I must say I was very impressed. I work in the wooden craft business and could instantly tell it was made beautifully from fine quality wood, you could see the natural grain throughout the custom-made box. Her name was deeply engraved perfectly, and the little vintage hinge, well it made the box.
I had all Kadie’s bump and first months memorabilia in a shaggy old gift bag stuffed at the back of her sister’s wardrobe so I was delighted to get the box to use. Her keepsake box contains her hospital band, umbilical cord, first lock of hair, her first pair of converse, first three outfits (onesies), all my scans photos and lots of cards from family and close friends. I also have a copy of her birth story in there. The only thing I didn’t manage to fit in were some newspapers from the day she way born.
Overall I’m very happy with my Dust and Things baby keepsake box. It will keep all Kadie’s first-year memorabilia safe and secure and looks really pretty too. The website is very easy to navigate, shipping was exceptionally quick but I must mention since registering with the site to place my order for the purpose of this review I’ve had six emails to my inbox in less than a month, something I would consider spammy, a little unnecessary and annoying. My only fault in the whole process of ordering.
Dust and Things offer free worldwide shipping and for the quality of their work the prices are very reasonable. The big question is would I purchase from them again? Yes, without a doubt, I’ve my eye on a cheese board for as a wedding gift for a friend later this year.
Dust and Things craft and customize other items like greeting cards, personalised wedding gifts, and photo frames. These are not stuff you will find on the high street. Head over to Dust and Things for a little goo.
I was given £35 credit to spend on Dust and Things online store for the purpose of this review, all thoughts and opinions are my own, as always.
Isn’t this a beautiful idea!!! I wish I had something like this from when Josh was born! x
Enter the giveaway Ally you never know your luck may be in 🙂
oh that box is beautiful, perfect for storing precious memories in x
It really is, and it’s alot bigger than I expected it to be…
The personalisation is lovely. A great idea for a keep sake box. Wonder if this would work for weddings too?
yep, they have loads of gifts for weddings over on their site 🙂
That is a really lovely box and so special being engraved as well
I know right, shame it took me so long to remember the poor child bith weight lol
That is such a lovely idea
It really is, I’ll have to get one for bump when she arrives too.
I use the thick card versions you get from Clinton’s and other card stores but these sounds so lovely and far more robust!
Is Clinton’s in the UK? I’ve never heard of it before. Cardboard boxes can do the job aswell, some really prettily designed one on the market 🙂
This is so, so adorable. I love little keepsakes and personalised items and didn’t think of doing something like this. We have so many little baby things of Evie’s loose in a bag at the moment, I really want to get one of these. x
Ah we need somewhere special to keep all their keepsakes. It will mean the world to them when they get older. I have nothing from my childhood… I was deprived lol xx
That’s lovely, I wish there was something like this around when my daughter was born x
What a lovely, lovely keepsake! It certainly puts the cardboard box — that I keep the twins’ special things in — to shame!! LOL! 🙂 xx
Such a beautiful idea, it looks lovely!
