I’ve no shame in admitting Netflix has babysitted Kayla for the past few months, it’s been tough with the new arrival and we’ve pretty much watched it everyday at some stage or another. There’s hundreds upon hundreds of programmes and movies to watch, and the hardest part for us is deciding what to watch. Here’s some Kayla’s favourites this month.

My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic

A childhood favourite of mine. ‘Friendship Is Magic’ is about Twilight Sparkles, Rainbow Dash and pals, and the their adventures in the enchanted land of Equestria. Surprisingly it’s quite educational, there are many valuable lessons about friendship throughout the four seasons.

Mako Mermaids

If she gets her hand on the remote you can be guaranteed she’ll pop this on. She absolutely loves it. It’s about a boy called Zac who accidentally turns into a mermaid and threatens the life of resident mermaids Sirena, Nixie and Lyla who protect Mako Island. This one is highly addictive, I’ve found myself hooked and they’re only twenty (ish) minutes long.

Hansel and Gretel

In case you’ve been living under a rock all your life, Hansel and Gretel is about two impoverished children who wander into the woods. They leave a trail of crumbs to find their way back but they’re eaten by some birds (the crumbs, not the kids), then the children are lured to a deceptively decorated gingerbread house of the wicked witch Giselda. It spooked her a little but we’ve watched it three times now and most likely will watch it again over the midterm.

Oh and only this week I’ve been reliving my childhood. We’ve watched a couple of the Care Bear episodes and she loves them too. I only read this week that ‘Care Bears and Cousins’ is scheduled to premier on Netflix in early 2016. And if I’m completely honest with you all, I’m dead excited!

I am part of the Netflix Stream Team and I received a years free subscription and an Apple TV in return for reviews and updates on what we watch.

16 Comments on Netflix : Kayla’s October Favourites

  1. I use to watch that hansel and gretel film all the time
didn’t know it was on Netflix, thats out afternoon sorted.

  2. I love that My Little Ponies are making a comeback – I was obsessed with them when I was a kid. I keep meaning to give Netflix a go but I’m worried I’d never get anything done. 😉
