Raising kids can be very challenging. It’s pretty chaotic here at times from teething to tantrums and wrongly cut sandwiches. I’ve pretty much exhausted most bribes to make daily life run smoothly here. Here is a list of how I make life easy with my four-year-old. They works most days…

1. Bribe child with pancakes.

2. Always let child press the elevator button.

3. Allow child to sit in the awkward small part of the trolley that we put our fruits and vegetables in.

4. Put gravy on everything.

5. No matter how ridiculous child looks, let them wear what they want.

6. How you cut their sandwich is way more important than what’s actually in it.

7. Give them your phone on early mornings so they can watch stupid kinder surprise openings (you can easily get an extra half hour in bed).

8. Always allow your child to win the ‘race’ up the stairs and if for some reason they don’t, it’s the last person up the stairs who wins. It’s a win-win situation.

9. Allow as many toys as they can possibly fit in the bath.

10. Allow them to believe they are the boss at all times!

and there you have it an easily life… with my four-year old anyways!

    1. pick your battles
    2. that skirt does not mean they are having sex
    3. Know the one that’s one too many is your parting advice
    4. An untidy bedroom is normal.
5, A broken hair straightener is the end of the world.

I could go on all night. Remember small children, small troubles. Enjoy.

  2. Haha that made me laugh. My little boy likes to wear shorts and pulll his socks over his knees – it’s easier to just go with it. And those ridiculous youtube videos!! haha they’re the best/worst – I’m glad I’m not the only one who tries to get a bit extra sleep using the phone as a bribe!!

  3. Ha ha ha! You’ve brightened up my grey Monday morning. Could not relate more with this – especially the shape of sandwiches (triangle quarters of course!) and the bloomin Kinder Surprise videos on YouTube – thought that was just Wonderboy! #mummymondays

  4. Oh how I love this list!!

My days are filled with so many days just to try and give me a tad bit easier day!

I’m glad that it’s not only me that believes that cutting their sandwiches exactly the right way can make such difference! And of course it would because they are the boss 😉

  5. ALWAYS let them press the elevator button AND turn the microwave off when it beeps! What is with those kinder surprise egg openings?! My son loves them too x

  6. My 3 year old is the same! The entire day is ruined if I ever press the elevator button before her… She also gets upset if I don’t park on the top level of the car park as she loves to go down the escalator to the shops. And yes, yes, yes! to the extra half hour in bed 🙂 I just let her grab the tablet and she opens you-tube herself to watch those things! Thanks for a good read 🙂 #mummymondays

  7. Feel like I should favourite this one for when Amelia is 4 but quite a few of them would work with her now (she’s 17months lol)! Thanks so much for linking up and hopefully see you again! #MummyMonday (co-host)

  8. Sorry to comment again not sure my last one went through! I think I should favourite this to keep for when Amelia is 4 but a lot of them would work with her now and shes 17months! haha. Thanks so much for linking up and hopefully see you again #MummyMonday co-host xx
