We headed off to the Christmas Toy Show yesterday afternoon. Situated in the main hall of the RDS, it had all the toys you need for Christmas under one roof from this year’s must-haves to the all-important stocking fillers, yeh know the one’s kids will actually play with! There was a timetable of live entertainment and music, along with activities and entertainment for everyone, adults included.
Upon arrival fashion icon Barbie was meeting and greeting her fan at the entrance. Kayla tripped over herself when she seen her. She got all her words mumbled and almost cried with excitement.
We started at the Play-Doh workshop, squishing, mushing and creating. Mr Play-Doh made an appearance. He jumped, skipped and danced, all the children were giggling and laughing as his play-doh pot bounced about the place.
Kayla spotted the Lego workshop next, she must have spent an hour here. She is looking for Princess Lego off Santa this year so she decided to practice making a Rapunzel castle.
Frosty the DJ kept everyone entertained when the live entertainment was on a break. We chilled back in a bean bag filled area and watched an amazing magic show by Silly Billys and Eclipse stage school performed some brilliant routines.
There is so much to do, you could spend the whole day there. There was a host of interactive family fun from ride-on tractor racing tracks, remote control challenges to Nerf and Rebellen target ranges. There was a storytime area, football challenges and not forgetting the Santa experience too.
It is a day not to be missed. I would recommend to bring some sandwiches if you are going to head along. There is a couple of vendors selling food but none to our taste, we are very fussy eaters. We are now feeling all christmassy and getting ready to pull the decoration out and christmify the house top to bottom. God, I love Christmas.
